The Economic Report
Despite being the group Trump campaigned towards, business owners’ poor view of the economy is only worsening as time passes, with the president’s approval ratings nearing an all-time low.
For the first time in nearly a year, the Federal Reserve has made the decision to lower the interest rate by 0.25%.
Surprisingly, the US economy has experienced a boost. However, that growth came along with a negative: an increased amount of unemployment.
The GDP rose at a rate of 4.3%, a number much larger than expected. However, this trend is not predicted to continue into October.
Despite the improvements in the US economy, the Chief Economists’ Outlook still predicts low growth for the rest of the year, especially due to the approaching date of the government shutdown.
The government shutdown is set to begin on October 1st, though it is not clear when it will end. The shutdown will lead to a lower GDP and lack of economic information in the following weeks.
