On November 12th, the longest government shutdown in American history finally ended as both political parties reached an agreement.
The shutdown slowed government spending and limited the pay of government workers, negatively impacting both the economy and the GDP.
It also led to the restriction of SNAP benefits, which helps feed over 40 million people in the country.
Despite this, the Labor of Bureau Statistics (LBS) reports that the country has seen lower rates of inflation than predicted.
However, because of the government shutdown, a lot of data is distorted, leaving economists without reliable information to base their calculations off of. Most economic reports are a little vague, with the data from December expected to help bridge that gap.
